This weekend I went to the Minnesota Garlic Festival. It was a lot of fun!

I was accidentally in the right place in the right time and was invited to be in the parade. I said yes, of course, only to discover my invitation was to be in the very front of the parade. I’m not sure how I always end up landing myself in these kinds of situations but I’m not complaining.

I learned a lot about garlic. Did you know it grows from the fall to the spring and freezing temperatures is a key part of the growing process? I didn’t.

I also ate garlic prepared in a lot of interesting ways. Here’s a garlic oatmeal walnut cookie that was unironically really good:

I bought some cloves to plant this fall. I was told a bunch of tips on how to grow it that I promptly forgot so I’ll need to do some research to make sure I take good care of my plants.
